Bring your youth group to a mission adventure high in the Rocky Mountains!
We started a program in July 2014 to host youth groups for a week of outreach, to connect eager young people with opportunities to serve, all surrounded by a stunning natural environment that can help them consider God’s place in their lives.
We’ve welcomed groups from Oklahoma, Texas, Nebraska, New Mexico, Minnesota, Indiana & Colorado, to serve in many ways. Groups have worked on homes of the elderly, disabled, and helped re-build a home for a man who had been homeless. Some have worked on town parks and trails that had been damaged by floods and vandals. Many have served at our summer homeless ministry, VBS, and worked at the Food Pantry garden, which serves hundreds of people year-round. Groups have helped set up our town emergency preparedness center and clothing closet. Others helped with recovery from a large forest fire, and other fire mitigation (protecting homes from the threat of a wildfire), which creates firewood for folks who can’t afford it in the winter.
When your group comes, you are welcome to use our mountain-oriented curriculum for reflection and Bible study, as well as group activities around campfires and at the foot of huge mountains. For your free day, groups can choose to hike in Rocky Mountain National Park or hop in a whitewater raft – be prepared for cold snow runoff! Young people and adult advisors sleep at the church (max 20 people, with your own air mattresses and ground pads), which has two bathrooms (showers are a short drive away) and a kitchen to prepare some of your meals, with a few prepared for you by some of our awesome church families.
For 2017 we are offering six weeks of service, from the second week of June through the second week of August. We will have even more projects for working on broken homes, helping with Vacation Bible School, outreach to the homeless community, adopting the local cemetery, and more! The best part? The fee is only $125 per person!
