Adults at NCPC have a Book Club, with dessert and lively conversation each Tuesday at 6:30 at the church. (And we try to hold a Bible study on Wednesdays at 6:30.)
Currently we are reading The World Until Yesterday, by Jared Diamond. The bestselling author of Collapse and Guns, Germs and Steel surveys the history of human societies to answer the question: What can we learn from traditional societies that can make the world a better place for all of us?
Previously, we’ve read The Great Emergence (Phyllis Tickle), Hannah Coulter (Wendell Berry), We Make the Road by Walking (Brian McLaren), A New Kind of Christianity (Brian McLaren), Snows of Kilimanjaro (Ernest Hemingway), Smoke on the Mountain (Joy Davidman), Love Wins (Rob Bell), Time of Death (Showtime series), and When Jesus Came to Harvard (Harvey Cox).
